In One A-Chord: Lexington Sacred Music Festival exists thanks to a passionate team of musicians, artists, educators, and community leaders who share a belief in music’s unique ability to bring people together. United by a vision of connection, inclusion, and cultural celebration, the team created the festival to inspire meaningful experiences across Lexington through performances, partnerships, and shared moments of community.
Dr. Everett McCorvey is a native of Montgomery, Alabama, and a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned his degrees, including a Doctor of Musical Arts. An internationally acclaimed performer, he has appeared at many of the world's leading venues, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Kennedy Center, Radio City Music Hall, Teatro Comunale in Florence, Italy, and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, England. He has performed in more than 23 countries throughout his distinguished career.

Dr. McCorvey is the Founder and Artistic Director of the American Spiritual Ensemble, a professional ensemble dedicated to the preservation and performance of the American Negro Spiritual. He also serves as Conductor and Artistic Director of the National Chorale and Orchestra of New York City, an organization devoted to presenting masterworks of the classical choral repertoire. In addition, he was recently appointed the inaugural Principal Guest Conductor of Opera Columbus.

In Kentucky, Dr. McCorvey serves as Chairman of the Kentucky Arts Council and, nationally, as an advisory panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sullivan Foundation of New York, an organization dedicated to identifying and supporting gifted young opera singers as they launch their professional careers.

His teaching appointments have included the New York State Summer School of the Arts, the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, and the Bay View Music Festival, where he served as co-opera conductor and co-director of the American Negro Spirituals Intensive Program. He currently holds the OperaLex Endowed Chair of Opera Studies and serves as Professor of Voice at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Recent conducting engagements include Sanctuary Road by Paul Moravec and Pulitzer Prize-winning librettist Mark Campbell with Virginia Opera (2024); Handel's Messiah at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center (2023); Bizet's Carmen with Opera Columbus (2023); Puccini's Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi with the Bay View Opera Festival (2023); María de Buenos Aires with Kentucky Opera (2022); and the world premiere of The Secret River by Stella Sung and Mark Campbell with Opera Orlando (2021). He has also conducted Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in Prague's Smetana Hall with the North Czech Philharmonic and led the Grand Finale Opera Gala at the Mythos Opera Festival.

Upcoming projects include Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera with Opera Columbus, This Little Light of Mine by Chandler Carter and librettist Diana Solomon-Glover with Kentucky Opera, and Scott Joplin's Treemonisha with Opera Orlando. Dr. McCorvey also served as Music Director and Conductor for the world premiere of BOUNCE: The Basketball Opera, conceived and directed by Grethe Holby, with lead composer Glen Roven and librettist Charles R. Smith Jr., and featuring additional music by Tomas Doncker and actor-musician Ansel Elgort.

Dr. McCorvey is married to soprano Alicia Helm, and together they have three children.
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Julie G. Klier found her way to the University of Kentucky for an undergrad degree in communications in the mid-1980s and has called Lexington home ever since.  Her 40-year career in event production and logistics management has taken her around the globe in pursuit of creating memorable events and experiences.  Whether large or small (though there are no small events!), Ms. Klier has developed a professional knack for coordinating events that meet the needs of corporations of all sizes, individuals, non-profit organizations, and start-ups.  Her “minute by minutes” are the stuff of legend, and if the devil is in the details...well, you get the picture.

Recent clients include University of Kentucky, Kentucky Humanities, The Jockey Club, NCAA, The Catholic Education Opportunities Foundation, NTRA Eclipse Awards, Thoroughbred Owners & Breeders Association, FEI World Equestrian Games, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, Alltech, Keeneland, Violins of Hope, and The Gardens at St. Patrick’s to name a cross-section of wonderful folks who Ms. Klier has had the privilege of serving.
Megh Jennings-Posner is an arts administrator, educator, and stage management professional with extensive experience supporting opera, ballet, and choral organizations at both academic and professional levels. Currently serving as Program Coordinator and Production Stage Manager for University of Kentucky Opera Theatre, Megh oversees daily operations for the Schmidt Vocal Arts Center, coordinates guest artist residencies and masterclasses, and administers the budget supporting this esteemed program. She also supports special events including the Kentucky District Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, the Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition, and coordinate regional opera auditions for students.

Megh serves as an Adjunct Faculty member in the University of Kentucky Department of Theatre and Dance, where she teaches an overview stage management course and mentors student stage managers through the rehearsal and performance process. Her broader university administrative experience includes managing $2.5 million in student fee budgets and implementing accountability systems for university spending.

Professionally, Megh has worked with prestigious organizations including Cincinnati Opera, San Diego Opera, Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, and National Chorale at Lincoln Center. Megh holds a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from the University of Kentucky and a BFA in Theatre Design and Pro
Amelia Groetsch is an arts administrator and nonprofit leader with more than 15 years of experience in performing arts management, communications, marketing, and community engagement. She serves as Executive Director of Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras (CKYO), where she oversees the organization’s operations, fundraising, marketing, community partnerships, and artistic and educational programs.

Originally from Iowa, Amelia holds a Bachelor of Music from Simpson College and a Master of Music from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining CKYO, she served as Program Coordinator for the Performing Arts programs at Centre College and as Production Assistant to Everett McCorvey, Executive Producer of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Amelia has supported several Central Kentucky arts organizations and community initiatives through fundraising, event promotion, administration, and volunteer service and is pleased to join the team of “In One A-Chord” Sacred Music Festival.
